About us

At Blackbird, we cook what we love, and love what we cook.  We're your cozy-casual corner restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a hodgepodge collection of styles and flavors for your to mix, match, sample and share.

Our homespun menus change frequently to showcase the best ingredients in their seasons, and to accommodate the fickleness of Mother Nature. When you come to our house for a meal, expect a silly combination of comfort and surprise.

$20 MYSTERY WINE NIGHT - WEDNESDAYS

Each week, we take 20 bottles out of our inventory for our Mystery Bottle night - which bottle is in which bag is a mystery to us too! Grab your special prize before someone else does.

Unwrap the mystery every Wednesday 5pm - 11pm. Cheers!

Three Things I Can't Live Without
(1) My baseball cap collection - all of my hats have a "P" on them.
(2) Portable bluetooth speaker.  Every cook in our kitchen has one, because we all like to listen to our own thing, which can get a little ridiculous.
(3) It's a Tie:  Ace Hardware - where else can you get canning supplies and cat food under one roof?  Cinco de Mayo Mercado - where else can you get pig's trotters and fresh tortillas under one roof?

Fishing, on a boat in the middle of a lake, in the summer sun, with an ice cold Corona.

Three Things I Can't Live Without
(1) My MAC chef's knife, for obvious reasons.
(2) My aquarium.  It's peaceful, keeps me focused, and I like having water in my presence.
(3) My baseball cap - for bad hair days!

Tackling the weeds in my garden.

Three Things I Can't Live Without
1. My pocket knives - I have a small collection. They come in handy for something as boring as breaking down delivery boxes to something as exciting as grabbing a chicken of the woods mushroom you stumble upon.
2. My garden. Every day reveals some new surprise.
3. My bike. I love my morning ride to work from Frogtown where I live. Sunrise on the Lake Street bridge is incredible.

Bubbles! Champagne, cava, prosecco, sekt - gimme the fizz!!

Best Way to Spend a Day Off
Napping in a hammock.

Three Things I Can't Live Without
1. Post It notes. My desk is covered in them. I would be lost without all of these little yellow reminders everywhere.
2. Soda Stream - a gift from my two old sous chefs who noticed my ridiculous obsession with fizzy water.
3. My back yard bird feeders. They attract a variety of creatures (yep, "blackbirds" too). Sipping my morning coffee and watching the birds is a calming way to begin each day.
